Firstly I’d like to welcome our newest members to the forum. We now have 265 members, which is amazing
New Members, if you haven’t done so already come in and introduce yourself here.
I’m sorry that things have been a little quiet on the website lately. As many of you already know my 11 year old daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes a little over a week ago, so I have had to have a little break from the fansites and forum while our family adjusts to our new lifestyle and learn everything we need to know. Thank you once again to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I am lucky to be part of such a wonderful caring group of Mums
If you have been to the Aussie Twilight Mums website lately you may have noticed a few changes. I have added a few extra things to the sidebars.
There is an up to date list of the Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse cast that are currently on Twitter. So if you are a Twitter user make sure you are following the cast. You can also follow me @TwilightMums, to get all the latest updates and happenings on the website. Be sure to send me a ‘Hello’ tweet telling me who you are and I’ll follow you right back
We also have a Fan Fiction section where there is a list of recommended Fan Fictions and links. This list will be updated often so keep checking back for more great FFs
You’ll also notice that Aussie Twilight Mums have their own Mums Twi-Network. You’ll find a list of Twi-Network sites in the sidebar. These are Twilight related blogs and websites created by our Mums. If you have a twi-related site and would like it listed please send me an email to rachel.thetwilightfansite@gmail.com with the link and a little about your site and don’t forget to go and visit the Mums in the Network.

With all the conventions going on at the moment we thought what better way to commemorate the awesomeness of this than by doing a blog post of The Armageddon Convention @ Melbourne’s Exhibition Centre over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of October.
We had been planning this weekend away for many months, Cass and I. Our much needed time away from the trials of life. And Armageddon was IT. We left home at about 8am early Saturday morning, armed with our New Moon soundtrack to listen to on the way up. It took about an hour to get there, with travel and all, and by the time we arrived I was pretty psyched up. I mean what better way to spend a weekend than with Twilight stars Sci Fi stars and other friends?
We got there and Parked at Crown which is basically across the road and because it was only like 9:30 we left all our stuff in the car(way too early to check into the hotel!). We made our way over to the exhibition buildings and could not believe the crowds! Luckily we didn’t have to wait in the cue!!
Once in there we started looking around at all the different displays. Most were from various shops including “The Hub” and “Gifts For The Geek”. We quickly went over and got in the queue for our vouchers to get autographs of the New Moon stars who were attending: Christopher Heyerdahl - ‘Marcus’, Cameron Bright – ‘Alec’, & Bronson Pelletier – ‘Jared’. The line seemed to go forever and we waited about half an hour or so. While in the queue Deb, ( a fellow ATM) messaged to say she was there so come and hopped in the queue with us. We were so excited we would finally get to meet some more New Moon stars!!( We had Already met Kellan Lutz & Edi Cathegi back in april) The whole thing took about half an hour or so .
After getting out of the queue we noticed that Cam and Bronson had gone on lunch break but Chris was still there. And best of all because he had nobody with him we got pics together!! Chris was lurvellyyyyy and so tall! And extremely different to how he looks in New Moon :). After meeting him ,cam and the sig I got sent down from Sydney from Charlie Bewley (Demetri) I am very much A Team Vamp – Volturi gal, and it’s made me more excited than ever for the release of New Moon.
So after that we went for a wander through the con. Many wonderful stores. But the display we were most excited about was the John Henson one. John Henson is the Costumer for the Hillywood Hills Twilight Parody. ( see it here) He is so bubbly and I think we went back like 3 times! He always has a big smile for everyone too. On Sunday we got a pic printed out of him with me and Cassie and took it along and he signed both copies and took one home for himself. I have turned into a huge fan of John and cant wait to see the costumes he brings out on the next Twi- tour (2010).
We wandered around for a few hours, Seth Green walked past us a few times (omg he is so tiny!!) But I totally got excited…..It’s OZ!!!! ( If you’re a Buffy fan you’ll know who I mean ) We also saw Jason Mamoa from Stargate Atlantis there posing for pics with fans. That man is delish and if you don’t know who he is check him out . If I’d known he would be there I would have brought a bib!!
Anyway after a few hours we decided to leave Arma for a bit and go check into our hotel before we cam back, to catch up with the GFTG(Gifts For The Geek peeps.
We left and went and booked into our hotel The Clarion. A bit exy (240 per night) but OMG Well worth the money we spent. Me and Cass both got ready before going back to Arma.
We waited for all the geek peeps to finish up, then we went out for dinner, (Mexican).We ended up not getting dinner till 10 but was great night and had many laughs.
The next day both me and Cass were woken early by the sun coming through the window so decided to get up early and check out. Were all checked out by 830, so we went to Maccas for Brekky and to find a photo place to get the John Henson pics printed. We went back to Arma and had another look at the costumes and had a chat to john Henson….He is an awesome bloke, cant wait to see him again at twitour next time! He told us that he’ll have more New Moon and Eclipse costumes, and should have an idea of Bella’s wedding dress. SQUEEEEEEE!!!!! After that we went and said goodbye to the crew from GFTG and headed off!
All in all a good weekend!

However it won’t be long before November is here and I have big things planned for Aussie Twilight Mums. November is going to be a fun month to help celebrate the release of New Moon. As many of you know, a group of us Aussie Twilight Mums met up at the Sydney Twilight Tour yesterday. It was great finally meeting Tab, Ness and Debbie and it was great to see Gen and Holly again!
It was amazing to see Chaske Spencer (Sam), who is so warm and toasty and gives the nicest hugs. Cameron Bright (Alec), who is hilarious and amazingly spent the majority if the day with his fans. Tinsel Korey (Emily), who is so gorgeous and very, very lovely. Chris Heyerdahl (Marcus), who is very entertaining and extremely funny and Charlie Bewley (Demetri) who had us in hysterics with his exuberance and playfulness :p

I went into my local shopping centre today and came home with some Twilight and New Moon goodies.
Big W have the New Moon Board Game for $29.84. There are 3 different box designs to choose from.
Then I went in to Target and saw this:
The throws are $45 each and the pillows are $35. So naturally I bought a throw rug and pillow and here they are on my bed:
