“Just before leaving for Africa to shoot that project, he heard the network was developing True Blood.

“As for Kwanten’s physical attributes, Ball insists he didn’t see him shirtless until they were shooting the pilot. “He came on to the set and I thought, ‘What the hell is that?’” Ball says. “But it was a total asset.
