Aussie Twilight Mums Newsletter – Dec 09

It’s the beginning of a new month and that means it’s time for another newsletter
Firstly I’d like to welcome all our new members! We have had a huge jump from 300 to 447 members this month. So I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you all and invite you to introduce yourself if you haven’t done so already. If you are unsure how to go about using the forum check for your welcome letter in the menu bar just under the forum header. It will give you some hints and tips on how to get started.

NewMoonber, our month long celebration of the release of New Moon was a huge success. We gave away a stack of prizes and had lots of fun and games. I’m looking forward to doing it all again, bigger and better for the release of Eclipse in 2010!
Thanks to all our members who participated in our NewMoonber events, you all helped to make it a really enjoyable month!
I’m guessing by now that all of you have seen New Moon, I have been lucky enough to see it 3 times so far and I’m looking forward to being able to see it again in the next few weeks.
So what did you think? Come in and join in the conversation on the forum!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with Lisa’s gift. Your generosity was overwhelming!
We raised enough money to have a bunch of flowers delivered and to also get her a Twilight Hamper.

Hub Productions have announced another Twilight Convention on Saturday the 24th April in Sydney and Sunday the 25th April in Melbourne.
Ashley Greene, Daniel Cudmore and others will be appearing on Saturday 24th April in Sydney from 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday the 25th April in Melbourne from 9.00am to 6.00pm.
For more information go to The Hubs website!
I will be at the Sydney Convention and would love to see you all there

ATM’s got a fair bit of media coverage in the last month. We had an article written about us in the Sydney Daily Telegraph, an article about the Melbourne ATM’s in Woman’s Day and New Idea Magazines, Gen and myself were also seen on New Idea TV and a few of us were interviewed on various radio stations.
For a few weeks there the ATMs were everywhere in the media and as we approach the release of Eclipse in June 2010 I’m sure we will get much more media attention

In 2009, I concentrated my efforts on building The Twilight Fansite and Aussie Twilight Mums was just something I worked on in the background. However now that I have TTF up and running the way I want it, I can concentrate my efforts fully on Aussie Twilight Mums.
What does this mean for you?
Firstly there will be more updates on the website, if there is anything happening in the Twilight world you will be able to read about it on the site!
An Aussie Twilight Mums Podcast is coming, a few of us Mums have been in talks and will have a regular Podcast going in the New Year. We’ll be asking for contributors from time to time so keep your eyes out for messages about that.
There will be more chatting and fun and games on the forum!
The ATMs Book Club will be back up and running on both the forum and on the website.
We will be starting a Fan Fiction of the Month Club for all the lovers of FF
In March 2010 Aussie Twilight Mums will be celebrating our 1st Birthday so we will be planning a big party in Sydney and I would love as many ATMs to come together as possible. I’m hoping that this will turn into an annual event for us Mums to come together and celebrate everything that Twilight and our ATM community has bought into our lives! There will be more details coming on this in the New Year, I promise to organise it asap to give everyone plenty of notice so that hopefully we can get some interstate Mums to come and join us!
plus there will be many more exciting things happening, but you will need to stay tuned for that!

The best way to stay connected and get all the news and updates is to:
Follow ATMs on Twitter!
Join the ATMs Facebook Group!
Be a regular on the forum!
Visit the ATMs website often!
and read the monthly newsletters. (Past Newsletters can be found here!)

Have you checked out the New Moon Merchandise at Gifts for the Geek yet?
If not you should! Not only have they put some New Moon Merchandise up on their site for pre order but they are giving us Twilight Mums a 10% discount. Simply enter the code atmrocks during the check out process to get your discount.

There have been a few new things added to the forum this month.
Firstly, have you checked out the Christmas Thread? There are lots of different Christmas topics being discussed in there.
Also new to the forum is The Meadow!. The Meadow is a different way to chat on the forum. It is a continuous chat thread, similar to the way the Essential Baby forums are run. Each day Wendy or Tab will start a new thread for the days discussion.
You are free to join in the conversation or simply bring up something of interest to you

Friday nights are our ATM Chat Nights. Chats are held in the Chatbox at the bottom of the forum homepage. They officially begin at 9pm Sydney time but there is usually an eager Mum or two in there a little earlier.
If you haven’t joined us for a chat yet, you should join us for the next one!

The Aussie Twilight Mums Book Club is going to be back in the New Year bigger and better than ever. We are going to run things a little differently this year though. Instead of getting everyone to vote on a book to read, which is time consuming and limits people time wise, I will take suggestions all month long and choose one book which will become our Book of the Month. As you will see below I have picked out January’s book, so now you have all of December to purchase or borrow the book ready for next month
If you have any suggestions for February’s Book of the Month please email me at aussietwilightmums@gmail.com
January’s Book of the Month is:
Fallen by Lauren Kate

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours? 17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross …only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart. Some angels are destined to fall…
Get your copy from The Book Depository or Fishpond now, ready to start reading in January!

December
21st – Jackson Rathbone’s Birthday
21st – ATMs Sydney Christmas Party (more info here!)
24th – Stephanie Meyer’s Birthday
25th – Christmas Day
26th – Boxing Day
January

The podcast is coming!
February

I’d like to thank our sponsors, without them and without you wonderful mums purchasing your twi merchandise from them, we wouldn’t have our wonderful sites
and now we have another new sponsor, The Book Depository!
If you have any ideas for things to add in the next Newsletters or if you have any events you would like added to the calender please email me at aussietwilightmums@gmail.com before the end of the month.

And because it’s our last newsletter for the year, I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! This year has been a very exciting year for us here at ATM and I know that 2010 is going to be even better!
Thank you to all my new friends who have helped out over the year with the website and the forum! Our Contributors, Admins and Mods have been doing a wonderful job and I wouldn’t be able to do it all without you
Looking forward to sparkling with you all in the New Year!
