robert pattinson for elephantsRobert Pattinson is coming to Sydney on May 6th for the premiere of his latest movie, Water for Elephants. For us Aussie Rob fans this could be the only time we get the opportunity to see Rob live and in person!

This is where the ‘Robert for Elephants’ project comes into play. We have decided to raise money for a charity, a charity that coincides with Rob’s movie Water for Elephants – We are going to raise money to sponsor an Elephant in Taronga Zoo, Sydney, for a year and we need your help.

What this means is that Robert Pattinson will officially be the adopted parent of one of the elephants in the zoo. This costs $1000 for the year and any money that we make from donations over this amount will be donated to the ‘SAVE THE ELEPHANTS FOUNDATION‘.

Our hope, and we are still working on this, is that while Rob is in Sydney, we can get Rob to come to the zoo and meet his elephant, be presented with his adoption certificate and a book, that you’ll find more details on further down. We know this is ambitious, but we’re going to give it a go!

So, how can you help???

We need your donations, we need you to like the Facebook page, we need you to send us photos (details below), and we need you to help promote this project on Facebook, Twitter, Emails, blogs, forums, websites etc.

Donating is just the first step. We also want to make a book to present to Rob. The book will contain the name/city/state of every person who donates and their photo (if they want to send one).

So, what we’d love for you to do is click on the donate button below to donate through Paypal. All sized donations are welcome. If you want to donate $2, or $20, or $200, it’s all welcome – it’s up to you! Please make sure to send us your name, city and state as well as your photo (if you want to).

If you would prefer to pay via Bank Deposit, send me an email and I’ll send you the details.

Or you may prefer to donate directly to the SAVE THE ELEPHANTS CHARITY rather than for the elephant adoption at Taronga Zoo, that fine too. Go to this website – http://www.savetheelephants.org/home.html – make your donation. To make it extra special for Rob don’t forget to put his name in the Dedication or Gift section.

Then send us an email with your name, city, state and photo (if you want to have a photo) and the amount of your donation (so we can keep track of all the money raised).

PHOTO DETAILS -

We’d love you to provide us with photos that we can print in a book to present to Rob when he comes to Sydney. What we’d like for the photos -

Take a picture of yourself holding a sign that says “I just donated to Robert for Elephants” You can wear a Twilight shirt, or have a Rob poster or be as Robsessed as you like in the photo, but please keep it classy. We don’t want to horrify him. If we deem your photo to be inappropriate it won’t be included. But, in saying that, be creative and have fun with it!!

In April, we will also be having a charity auction where we will be selling Twilight merchandise and signed photos from the Twilight cast – and YES, we DO have a Rob signed photo!! It could be yours, so make sure you check back to our page often for details on the auction!
